Lately I’ve been making an effort to have friends over more often for casual get togethers at my apartment. The idea of entertaining can seem really overwhelming sometimes – from the idea of having to cook everything from scratch or scheme up an elaborate decor plan, we can all too quickly talk ourselves out of hosting guests in our own space so I’ve been shaking off the pressure and thinking of new, fun ways to hang out with friends at home.
My latest favorite? The at home spa night. It’s a perfect excuse to indulge in a little pampering while catching up with friends. Some of my favorite ways to turn my apartment into a spa for the night and host guests for a relaxing night in:
Set the Mood: From candles and low lighting to your favorite relaxing tunes, think about how you can set the mood and bring some zen to your space. I love bringing out some extra throw pillows and blankets to help guests get cozy and laying out an assortment of magazines to flip through while you wait for face masks to dry.
Snacks & Sips: A good spa night is all about treating yourself and sharing a great bottle of wine with friends is one of the best ways to do just that! I’ve officially made the switch over from red wine to whites and rosé and cannot get enough of how gorgeous (and delicious!) AVA Grace wines are. Their Rosé is crisp and dry and reminds me of summer with every sip while their Pinot Grigio is so refreshing and pairs perfectly with food. When entertaining I like to keep things simple with an assortment of snacks versus a full meal and love serving fresh fruit and nuts for a healthy light bite to snack on that works with the spa night theme.
Get Comfortable: Let your guests know that comfy clothes are welcome and kick back in your favorite loungewear or robes. It’s the perfect opportunity to make your adult slumber party dreams come true and help you get relaxed and ready to unwind.
Masks + Manis: Encourage guests to BYOM (bring your own mask!) and show off some of their favorite beauty products, assembling a mask bar with a variety of options for guests.
Spending time with friends and a great glass of wine is truly one of life’s simple pleasures and AVA Grace Wines combined with some self-care time makes things even better!
Have you ever hosted an at home spa night? What are some of your favorite ways to catch up with friends and unwind?
