Once the warm weather rolls around, I’m always eager to get outside and shake off the winter blues with the help of some sunshine. This typically means extra long walks with the pup, mid-day iced coffee runs and as much dining al fresco as possible. To celebrate the kickoff of spring, I recently planned a little brunch picnic in the Presidio with girlfriends – it’s one of my favorite spots in San Francisco because of how different it feels than the usual hustle and bustle of life downtown. The air smells absolutely amazing because of the eucalyptus and pine trees and you’re able to catch breathtaking views of the ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge; it’s the perfect little escape without having to leave the city.

When it comes to packing the ultimate spring brunch picnic, light bites and pastries were a must. We kept things easy (I’m never one for spending a lot of time in the kitchen!) and stocked up on some snacks from Trader Joe’s – lots of fresh fruit, croissants and banana bread. To finish up our picnic prep I grabbed Bota Box’s dry rosé – it’s been my favorite spring drink lately and the compact packaging makes it perfectly portable and ready for any adventure.

Our Bota’s environmentally friendly packaging was also right at home in one of the prettiest parts of the city – they create 85% less landfill waste than traditional glass packaging AND I was able to bring the extra wine home since the brand’s state-of-the-art technology keeps the wine fresh for up to four weeks which means I might have a pretty sold rosé stash in my fridge right now.

Catching up with friends (it was my first time seeing Shikha post Colombia!) in such a beautiful spot in San Francisco made me feel like one of the luckiest girls around. Between the view of the ocean and the amazing company, it couldn’t have been a better morning which gave us plenty of reasons to cheers.

Do you have any upcoming picnic plans? What are some of your favorites for packing the perfect picnic?
